Traditional tools working group 3 Months ago
The latest NWSA update on traditional tools indicates the USFS working group has a goal this summer to release national guidance on the use of the crosscut saw and "establish a consistent standard for determining who can train crosscut sawyers" including possibly allowing volunteers to assume the role of trainer. If you had easy access to the working group, what would you want them to know as they work up these guidelines?

It is about time. Our main service project is clearing deadfalls from wilderness trails and some non-wilderness trails. This is the only really sore point we have with the Forest Service. They demand we have training but can't come up with the person and the time to give it to us.
