The Forest Service has agreed to post a Friends of Allegheny Wilderness placard with contact information at the Hickory Creek Wilderness trailhead in the Allegheny National Forest in order to help us drum up more volunteers to do trail work.
Maybe other local stewardship organizations could ask their agency people to post something similar at their local wilderness area(s) too? From Kirk Johnson of Friends of Alleghany Wilderness: "Basically all I did was print this out on card stock, then had it laminated. Then I gave it to the trail/recreation people we work with at the USFS and asked them if they would be willing to post it at the Hickory Creek trailhead for the purpose of rounding up more volunteers, which they agreed to do.
