Grow Wild Grant Program

NWSA's Grow Wild Grant Program supports the formation of new wilderness stewardship programs as we work to reach our goal of establishing a wilderness stewardship group for every Wilderness area in the National Wilderness Preservation System. This funding program is offered through a generous donation from The David Berolzheimer Foundation to honor life-long friend and wilderness champion, Elaine Dermody, who is a Founding Member of the National Wilderness Stewardship Alliance (NWSA).

The program is designed for:

  • Start-up wilderness stewardship groups who need funds to cover costs of establishing a new organization,
  • Existing wilderness stewardship organizations who need funds to expand their work into a new wilderness area, and
  • Existing organizations who want to add a wilderness stewardship arm to their programs.

To Apply

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Before proceeding with your application, please contact Joelle Marier, Executive Director at [email protected] to see if this program is right for your needs. Proposals should follow the guidelines established in the Financial Support for Newly Forming Stewardship Groups NWSA policy paper. A team of NWSA Board members reviews applications and makes selections based on the available funding.
