REGISTER

This year, Friends of Nevada Wilderness (FONW) completed a full 18 months of their Bilingual Program. This program began with outreach events directed to the Spanish speaking community and has grown to encompass translating material, leading educational hikes and stewardship projects in Spanish, as well as having the program fully funded throughout this time. Join Meg to hear about the lessons learned, accomplishments, and the set backs FONW has navigated while building this program in both Reno and Las Vegas.

Meg Tait joined the Friends of Nevada Wilderness Trail Crew in 2018, working four seasons in Nevada's remote wilderness areas. As of 2022, she has been working year round as the Northern Nevada Stewardship Coordinator. Meg was born in Florida, lived in Argentina, and is now an advocate for Nevada's Wilderness. She has worked on creating the Bilingual Program at Friends, this includes translating educational and outreach material to Spanish, leading educational hikes in Spanish, as well as leading projects in both English and Spanish.
