The Wilderness Act
This landmark 1964 Act created the National Wilderness Preservation System and a way to protect “untrammeled” American wild areas for generations to come.
2020 Vision Document
This interagency document (National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and the US Geological Survey) lays out priorities for the National Wilderness Preservation System from 2015 – 2020.
